I don't know what I'm doing wrong but in my scene I can't get the projection...

I'm in the same stage...Stuck! No

Can you make a render from my scene or upload a material or simply post the parameters exactly in the material in use?

Thank you very much...

First of all, are you sure you wanna use dispersion? It will take forever to render Rolling Eyes
Ok, I'll do a test and upload it..

...Like caustics...This is what we would like it was.

It's strange but I think that this effect could be obtained easier with VRay...Don't you think the same?

Our objective is to reach the projection on the floor.

The fact is that if you use a normal red glass like Fryrender materials by default are...We can get a tinted red floor in the projection on the floor, but I've tested in my simple scene that when you use an image instead of a simple transparent glass we can't get the projection of this image. No

If someone else can help us...I've tried I would say ALL...I've no ideas to test...

Regards.

Ok, so this is what you need to do. First of all, make sure to have a direct light coming trough the glass. Then, you don't have to use dispersion, just absorption. Make sure to have the image texture on the transmitance slot. If your glass is 1cm thick, use 0.7 for the absorption distance... it should work. feel free to post your render Very Happy

I'm trying with the Sunlight/environment light system...I'm not testing it with a direct light...I understood that mr-mégot iluminated his scene with the environment/Sunlight system...

It's not a problem trying with an emitter but, I've to tell you that I've made tests with a normal (without any image on) glass tinted and the floor of course has been tinted wth the same color.

So, let's go..

Well, its a good result. I can't wait to watch the final result! Smile

I've been making some tests and I think that in one of them I get a satisfactory result but my nephew who is 2 years old stroke a key of my keyboard and closed my session... affraid

The way is working starting from a base of a red glass basic material. I remember that I made it from here.

I will try again!!

Fantastic result mr-mégot. Thanks for posting! cheers

hi jorari

i have testing your material, but in my scene, there not projection in the ground. In fact I think because the sun don't illuminate the stained glass directly. The light (sun) come from the left.

Maybe with a direct emitter behind the glasse.

In case thank for the help Surprised

Well...Thinking like in the real world..It's rare that a projection can be caused without a direct light beam that passes through the stained window...

Are there only stained windows just in the side where the sun doesn't penetrate directly? Wow...What a coincidence! Ahahaha... alien

Anyway, it's important the discover made thanks to this needing of you...I'm sure that it will be useful for any other case.

Regards.
