WIP bugatti veyron
Hey, this is my test render wip thread for a studio lighting of a car. The model is made by me, in modo 302. As far as lighting goes, I have a sphere around the model(with a map made in modo), two plane lights, and some emmiters in the headlights.. This is what I have so far. C&C welcomed

Excellent model job!
I'd like having the moedlling knowledges that you have in order to make this car.
The amount of tasks pendent related to this modelling job are huge: the wheels, the trims and the frontal central part. To tell you the truth not many tasks left.
I'd like encourage you to fisnish soon. It's a great modelling job!
Related to the lighting and ovreall the camera settings...Maybe you should set the camera DOF according to the scene: I wanna mean that: wouldn't be better focusing all the car, instead only the frontal part of the car? The election of this DOF can transmit like if your bugatti was a toy car (this last phrase is not for making fun,I'm saying this seriously)...If you want to make a "macro" photo, you should try to approach the camera to the target and even rotate the camera, like I made in one of my last scenes . Photos like this that I've explained with this type of camera settings are better for an impressive car still. Although I'd like see all your modelling job and for this you should focus ALL the model!
. Your shoot is not bad, but I see as a complementary still to others that can focus ALL the model. For example, it's usual focusing with a "macro" still the trims, and the rest remains unfocused...But this has to be in a very near and short plane. You have to leave clear what you want to highlight.
. The best to choose a great camera setting (position, focusing, rotation) is watching a commercial website and looking how car companies choose these settings in their commercial advices. For instance:
http://www.km77.com/00/nissan/370z/2009/g01.asp
If I wanted to make a job like yours, I would emphasize that the election of the camera settings are so important than the rest of the aspects of all your job.
Remember that in many sites you can read that materials and texturing are so important as the modelling...Well, the election of the camera settings in many cases are important too.
GO GO GO!!!
Thanks for posting Pejic, as usual...

Re: WIP bugatti veyron
Thx man
Thank for kind wors.. As far as modeling, the model is finish but I did't render whole parts. Also I used subdiv level of 1 in turbosmooth so that's why it looks that way
Also, I'll change my cammera settings, I think the model is not even in scale, this was just some fast test renders ( I wanted so bad to see my model rendered with fry
) I'm running a render now, and I'll post resoults when I come back from school. This is RC btw.. And thx a lot for the link, great link indeed. I'll use some of those camera angles

Hi!
Great update.
Your progress is adequate.
The rest of the parts are very well modelled indeed.
And the paintcar is correct. Although try to put a .hdri reflection map to increase the quality of the paintcar. You know: with the sky and the ground well contrasted and delimited.
For the background I will put a static image or a "movement" image, like you can see in the gallery of the Nissan 370z I've posted yesterday. Choose what do you prefer the best. You can apply the image as in a tutorial for MODO and the "Race car" (or something like that)...If you want I can make some captures of what I want to tell you. For the background use a blended plane with 90 degrees and put in it the ground and background image. I think that this can serve to you very well. I can make some captures or even send to you a simple capture scene of how to make it.
And great effect for the lights on.
I like it very much!
Continue your work and take your time. It deserves the wait for.
Regards.

Re: WIP bugatti veyron
Thx for advice. I think I'll finish the studio version before moving to outside scene, which could also be very intersting
Just a small update, trying to figure out some good background...

Good work.
I don't know how long have you invested modelling The Bugatti, but it only can mean hours and hours of work modelling.
I like the rear lights, how they are turned on.
You only have to complete the modelling and add an exterior background.
How about an exterior from your village? You know...You take your camera and you elevate from the horizon the camera and point the target to an angle like in any of the renders you have made. And then you put it on the plane bended just in the horizon. I think this can result really "real".
I insist: Good job.
