The reduction of the reflection mapping from the right tab of environment's Fryrender section...

Hi again!.

I'd like to ask you about the reflectance of a map selected inside the "reflection mapping" environment tab.

This reflectance projected over the surface of an object is too much big for the desired result and I'd like to know how to reduce it.

Did anyone knows how to reduce the size of the reflection created by the automatic reflection from the environment tab?

Do you know what I mean?

Thank you.

Hi guys, I've some question with panel of trasmittance: can I convert the value of physical object to the value of absorption? An example: the persplex (PMMA) has a 92% of trasmittance, how to set the absorption? And in second row: what it means the "Abbe" unit? How can I relate to real physic properties?

This is my preview rendering of Colombo 281 lamp, but I don't know if the persplex material is correct. The caustics is beautiful, but real or not?

Normal Mapping artifacts....

I converted this grayscale image

using crazybump

to a normal map

then I uploaded the normal map into fryrender

Applied the suggested settings

And rendered the material scene which exposed some artifacts.

I continued to render the scene which also shows some artifacts

Is there a way to prevent this problem from occuring?

Thankyou for your time

Hi -

I've got to say it's a great system - I downloaded the demo today - it looks great, renders fast etc and within a couple of hours I was thinking - I'm going to buy this tomorrow - and then I noticed that...

Motion Blur only affects the camera - not the objects. In short, objects don't blur at all.

Unfortunately this strikes me as a pretty major problem for production work - is there any way around this? Is it being dealt with? Or have I missed something (I knew it was too ...

Anyway, I've noticed that in fryrender in order to achieve a very realistic exterior scene the sun most be positioned at the very top, in a perpendicular angle, sometimes rotating the angle a bit. Thats how it works for me. But here comes the problem, my grass or my street map always get burn. I've used lambertian materials with a 100% of roughness and even reducing the brightness of my map.

Each line starts with a number for easy reference, then the name of the render engine, and then comes the particular point where it has an edge over the other one.

As a rule, I alternate between Fry and Maxwell.

Feel free to add more !

Ok, i know that in maxwell when you put let say a bump map, you can set it's numeric value. I've heard that in fry that is not the case?!? Let me clear it up a little: when you put a bump (or any other) map, than numeric value next to it is owerwritten. Is that true?

I dont wanna shoot the forum with several threads so if you let me ask a few questions I have at once Id be very greatful.

-I wonder if theres a way to save the render settings.

-Also theres a way to delete shaders and media pool content? (from the material editor)

Several warnings while exporting the scene from 3DSMAX plug-in...

Hi!.

When I export my scene in order to render with Fryrender plug-in, a box window with several "warning" messages appears related to the lack coordinates or material...

My question is: Does it affect to the efficiency or to the quality of the rest of the scene?

My own answer is: It's only a warning and this is to depurate the coordinates forgotten...

What do you think about this simple "issue"?

Regards.

When I try a IBL, I wanna mean: I want to illuminate an exterior or interior scene with a HDRi file...

a).-Light beams project shadows better or worse defined or only create global illumination?

b).-If light beams are created, can I control their direction ?

c).-Are they controlled with the plug-in parameter "angle" within the Environment Configuration settings?

I'm making a few fast tryings but if someone can tell us a few resumed advices...

Thank you.

hello,

I have make this scene, and I think it's a little bit noise

I have make the same render (same time render) but without the sconce emitter and lampshade and the result is better.

It's strange no ??

Where from the problem can come ?

the objet emitter is low poly, other lampshade is on glass...

the windows are ghost glass.

time render 24 h on dual core 2.ghz

without sconce and light

here the preview of the lampshade texture
