The reduction of the reflection mapping from the right tab of environment's Fryrender section...

Hi again!.

I'd like to ask you about the reflectance of a map selected inside the "reflection mapping" environment tab.

This reflectance projected over the surface of an object is too much big for the desired result and I'd like to know how to reduce it.

Did anyone knows how to reduce the size of the reflection created by the automatic reflection from the environment tab?

Do you know what I mean?

Thank you.

Hi guys, I've some question with panel of trasmittance: can I convert the value of physical object to the value of absorption? An example: the persplex (PMMA) has a 92% of trasmittance, how to set the absorption? And in second row: what it means the "Abbe" unit? How can I relate to real physic properties?

This is my preview rendering of Colombo 281 lamp, but I don't know if the persplex material is correct. The caustics is beautiful, but real or not?

Normal Mapping artifacts....

I converted this grayscale image

using crazybump

to a normal map

then I uploaded the normal map into fryrender

Applied the suggested settings

And rendered the material scene which exposed some artifacts.

I continued to render the scene which also shows some artifacts

Is there a way to prevent this problem from occuring?

Thankyou for your time

I've got to say it's a great system - I downloaded the demo today - it looks great, renders fast etc and within a couple of hours I was thinking - I'm going to buy this tomorrow - and then I noticed that...

Motion Blur only affects the camera - not the objects. In short, objects don't blur at all.

Unfortunately this strikes me as a pretty major problem for production work - is there any way around this? Is it being dealt with? Or have I missed something (I knew it was too ...

Anyway, I've noticed that in fryrender in order to achieve a very realistic exterior scene the sun most be positioned at the very top, in a perpendicular angle, sometimes rotating the angle a bit. Thats how it works for me. But here comes the problem, my grass or my street map always get burn. I've used lambertian materials with a 100% of roughness and even reducing the brightness of my map.

The problem is that before we decide we need to know if fryremder is worth and easier and better than vray.

I am posting this interior image. Setup only with enviroment + sun, no interior lighting. Let me know if you want me to post all the scene .max, is possible. I beg people to make a repository of fryrender scene ...

Each line starts with a number for easy reference, then the name of the render engine, and then comes the particular point where it has an edge over the other one.

As a rule, I alternate between Fry and Maxwell.

Feel free to add more !

Hi there !

And thanks to Chris for this Forum !

I use Rhino for modeling, and I'm trying to convince myself that Fryrender is the best render engine for me.

Why ?

-Fry's single sheet sub-surface scattering (SSSSS !) is a great feature for me because I deal with Architectural membranes.

-Fry's virtual reality looks real good, I just hope they will release it in my lifetime

But then I tried the demo.

The Fryrender plug-in for Rhino uses McNeel's "Render Development ...
